Taking tangible action for the environment
Yon-Ka works every day to use more eco-friendly processes, including containers, packaging materials, and promotional tools with a lower impact on the environment.
Today, we can promise that:
- All of our plastic tubes (PP or HDPE) are recyclable*
- 20% of our retail products are in 100% recyclable glass bottles*
- Our labels are printed on 100% recyclable paper from sustainably managed forests (FSC)
- We are reducing our use of paper by switching to double-sided cases instead of leaflets, which equates to a saving of more than 4 tonnes of paper per year.
- All of our communications and promotional materials are chosen based on sustainable development guidelines
One of our FSC packaging suppliers (Iggesund, a Swedish company) is one of the 100 companies most committed to sustainable development in the world, according to the United Nations Global Compact index.
We always working to improve our processes so we can continue reducing our carbon imprint. This translates into tangible actions in favour of the environment, both current and future: better waste management for a greener product site, increasingly eco-friendly formulations and packaging, and more responsible treatment protocols.

Respecting nature through Yon-Ka commitments
We source our plant active ingredients in a way that respects biodiversity and humans in order to limit our environmental impact through sustainable supply chains.
Yon-Ka will not use species that are disappearing or whose use risks depriving indigenous peoples of food resources they need for well-being.
We’ve partnered with “Un Toit pour les Abeilles” (A Room for Bees) on a sustainable development project that’s important to us: protecting bees.
For years now, bee populations have been quickly declining and have even disappeared in certain geographic areas. Around 30% of bee colonies disappear in France every year. This phenomenon, called “bee colony collapse disorder”, is characterised by worker bees completely abandoning hives without any dead bees left behind.
What causes these losses? Pesticides, parasitic infections, climate change, pollution, appearance of invasive species, monoculture farming and more – all caused by the impact of human activity on the planet.
This disappearance is especially alarming when you consider the ecological importance of these insect pollinators.
Knowing this and understanding the health benefits of products from hives and the essential role bees play in biodiversity and the ecosystem, Yon-Ka decided to support Un Toit for les Abeilles (A Home for Bees). This is an eco-friendly gesture to protect bees by making donations to fund:
- installation of 15 hives in the countryside and protection of more than 750,000 bees in France since 2014.Yon-Ka has been the organisation’s largest donor since the initiative began and through our work, we’ve enabled the selected bee keepers to sustain their work.
- planting fields of flowers that are attractive to foragers to help protect biodiversity.
Our subsidiary in the United States has also set up similar initiatives.
Centring women with Odyssea
Because women’s health and beauty are at the heart of our brand’s concerns, and even today too many women suffer in their bodies and their femininity, Yon-Ka is taking part in this commitment during the “Pink October” campaign by mobilising its teams in support of the ODYSSEA association.
ODYSSEA is the story of 3 women, 3 mothers, who decided in 2002 to put sport at the service of health. For more than 20 years, they have been organising sporting activities bringing together thousands of women and men motivated by the same spirit of solidarity towards women with breast cancer. Every year, they donate a handsome sum to support breast cancer research.
